About the role:
We’re on the hunt for a LA-based social media videographer/editor/producer to join the US Brand Partnerships team. Working within a fun, dynamic and fast-growing start-up, this role will create socially native videos for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube for a highly engaged audience within the Secret Media Network and for a portfolio of some of the most globally-recognized brands.
While this role is based in New York, The US Brand Partnerships team supports a wide range of clients throughout the US & Canada. Traveling to key markets is essential for this role - applicants must have a valid Passport to apply.
Responsibilities
- Shoot and edit a wide range of social-first video content: unscripted and scripted, using both original and archival footage from a wide range of brand partnership clients
- Quickly create assets and proactively experiment with different versions of an edit, exploring multiple directions and current trends
- Create a polished final video asset with coloring, sound mix, voiceover, and captions to be published on social channels and bespoke websites
- Identify exciting potential video/photo topics for Brand Partnership clients in line with Secret Media Network tone, and participate in brainstorming sessions
- Plan interviews, storyboards, scripts, and potential castings to turn general concepts into highly engaging, sharable pieces for a variety of clients
- Know the latest social media trends and be able to jump on them quickly
- Have an clear understanding of the dynamic, social-first style of content featured on the Secret Media Network
Key Skills and Experience
- 4+ years proven experience in working on high-quality scripted and unscripted video (showreel and portfolio of previous work, or any relevant social media links accepted as well)
- Bachelor’s degree or similar in Film, Design,Communication or related field
- Confidence in writing video copy/scripts and full video treatments
- Social media content creation skills (anything from TikTok/Reels to Youtube)
- Creative agency background is a huge plus
- Interest in latest trends in social media and digital video platforms
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Willingness to work outside office hours and tight deadlines when necessary
- Passionate about city life and the topics covered at Secret Media
- Excellent understanding of digital media trends, with a good feel for what makes content shareable online
- A can-do person who takes on tasks proactively and sees things through to completion
- Interest in travel to key US and CA markets - valid passport required
- Creative videographer and editing skills - able to edit owned-video content as well as raw footage shot elsewhere
- Advanced knowledge of After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Media Encoder
- Comfortable creating video and still imagery using digital cameras (Sony Alpha series, GoPro, iPhone, etc.)
- Motion graphics and titling experience
- Confidence in ability to create diverse video formats such as cinemagraphs, gifs and typographical animation
- Knowledge of digital media including codecs, image types, resolutions, frame rates and the latest digital workflows
- Experience conducting on-camera interviews
- Understanding of basic color-correction (Premiere), basic sound design and mixing (Premiere and Audition)
